Paper Sunflower Bookmark

Paper Sunflower Bookmark. Your bridal shower or wedding guests will love taking home a beautiful bookmark a unique wedding party favor. This is perfect for any sunflower bridal shower or wedding theme.

Materials Needed

1. Elegant paper - wall paper craps, etc.

2. Thin decorative lace

3. Tissue paper - yellow

4. Yarn - black and green

5. Green bubble paint

6. Clear plastic wrap

7. Scissors

8. Glue - tacky glue for the yarn

Instructions

1. Cut out your bookmark rectangle shape in decorative paper, such as wall paper scraps. Some wallpaper stores give their wallpaper sample books to crafting groups.

2. Glue the two pieces wrong sides together.

3. Make paper sunflowers - Use a salt shaker as a guide to draw two sets of two circles into the yellow tissue paper. Fold each set in half several times. Cut out the shape of one petal.

4. Unfold the yellow circles. Overlap them and glue the centers together.

5. Use your tacky glue to draw two stems and leaves on your bookmark.

6. Lay the green yarn over the glue pattern. Then glue the yellow sunflowers at the top of the green yarn stems.

7. Make the black center of your sunflowers - Draw a spiral starting in the middle of your sunflower. Add the yarn and then add another spiral and add more yarn. Continue until you have a sufficent center for your sunflower. Repeat for each paper sun

8. Using your bubble paint. Write the phrase - Love is in Bloom - at the bottom of your Sunflower bookmark.

9. Once everything is dry and in its proper place, carefully wrap the bookmark in plastic wrap. Be careful to smooth out the bubbles.

10. Add glue to the outside perimeter of your bookmark. Permanently affix the plastic wrap to the bookmark.

11. Hide the glue spots on the outside of your bookmark by glueing decorative lace to the bookmark.

12. Now you have a beautiful summertime bookmark that your bridal shower and wedding guests will enjoy using to save the pages in their favorite book.
