Soda Tab Flower Photo Magnet

A perfect handmade gift idea for any mom or dad. Just paint the tabs of soda cans and make a metal flower frame for your favorite kid photograph.

Materials Needed

1. Metal soda tabs - clip them off of the top of soda cans

2. Felt material

3. Acrylic paints

4. Paint brush

5. Tacky glue

6. Scissors - material grade sheers for the felt and paper sheers for the paper.

7. Card stock -- we used the cardboard from an recycled cereal box.

8. Salt shaker to determine the size of the circle.

9. A photograph of a head shot the size of a basic salt shaker.

10. A small magnet that fits on the back of your flower.

Instructions

1. Use your salt shaker to cut out your photo and then cut out a piece of cardbard the same size. Glue the photo to the card stock.

2. Paint your soda tabs on each side. We used seven soda tabs to make the petals of our flower.

3. Glue the magnet to the back of your photo.

4. Lay your photo face up. Add a line of glue around the outer rim of your photo.

5. Attach the soda tabs to your photo magnet.

6. Add glitter around the inner circle or a thick line with bubble paint.

7. Now you have the perfect gift for any mother, father, or grandparent that uses recycled materials and will look great with your magnet collection on your refrigerator.
