How to make a whimsical 3D snowman birthday card for that special kid born during the winter months. Mix glue with shaving cream to make the snow, then decorate your snowman birthday card with funny eyes, carrot nose, twig arms, and a tiny rolled party toy before it dries.
    Time to Complete : < 30 minutes
    Difficulty : Easy
Submitted By : Crafty Shops Creative Staff
    Materials Needed
    1. Basic white card or paper to fold one
    2. Construction paper - multiple colors like blue/red/orange
    3. Can of barbasol - white shaving cream
    4. White glue
    5. Styrofoam bowl - to mix the shaving cream and glue into a snowlike paste
    6. Funny eyes
    7. Marker
    8. Compass to make the snowman circles or small circle objects to trace circles from like salt and pepper shakers.
    9. Two tiny twigs to use for arms
    10. Scotch tape
    11. Tack or a straight pin
    12. Thick Paint brush

    Instructions
    1. Make a background from blue construction paper to paste over the front cover of your snowman birthday card.
    2. Take another sheet of paper and draw three circles insecting each other to make the shape of your snoman.
    3. Cut around the circles on a rectangle. Then cut out the circles to make your snowman cutout pattern.
    4. Take the larger circle that you cut out from the snowman cutout pattern. Shave it down with scissors.
    5. Make a small hole in the center of the large circle that you shaved down. This slit will be what you will use a tack or pin to lift up the circle that will be bordered by your snowy mixture.
    6. Tape your snowman cut out and circle cut out to the appropriate place on your card.
    7. Mix in a styrofoam bowl some shaving creaming and glue.
    8. Using your thick paint brush glide the snowy mixture over the opening made by the cutout. Make it as puffy as possible because it will flatten when it dries. Make sure to leave the center of the big snowman belly circle free, so you can lift it up.
    9. Once you have left about and inch thick of snow on your snowman, remove the cutout snowman pattern. Use a tack or pin to lift up the belly piece.
    10. Now decorate give your snowman some personality. Add some funny eyes. Be careful to lay it over the top because you can easily cave your eyes into your snowman and create a mess.
    11. Cut out a tiny orange triangle and add it to the face of your snowman like a carrot nose.
    12. Cut out a small strip of construction paper and roll it with your thin little twig to make the party mouth piece for your snowman. Stick it into his face below the snowman carrot nose.
    13. Lastly cut out a party hat for his head and stick two twigs in either side for the arms.
    14. Let your snowman dry overnight.
    15. In the morning write your birthday message into his belly and add any other embellishments to make your 3D snowman birthday card a unique snowy success!
