Butterfly Flowers Wedding Centerpiece

Create this homade wedding centerpiece idea for an elegant garden themed wedding centerpiece by adding long stemmed butterflies made from bows to a hurricane vase of fresh cut flowers. Handmade from large crafting bows, the butterflies will add an inexpensive garden flair to your wedding centerpiece. The flowers and butteflies form a memorable wedding centerpiece that your wedding guests will enjoy.

Materials Needed

1. Semi thick craft ribbon - Find the ribbon that matches your wedding colors

2. Pipe cleaners - We used black, but you can add more color to your wedding centerpiece with a complimentary color.

3. Thin metal rods - You can even use then wooden sticks

4. Green flower wrapping tape

5. Tall hurricane shaped wedding flower vase

6. Long stemmed flowers, such as daises, violets, and roses.

7. Hot glue gun with glue

Instructions

1. Take each of your metal rods or sticks and wrap them with green flower wrapping tape.

2. Tie a loose bow around the top of a metal rod with your thick craft bow.

3. String your pipe cleaner through the top of the middle knott forming it into the butterfly antenea.

4. Loop the free flowing piece of your ribbon up under your bow forming the bottom wings of your butterfly.

5. Tighten the bow, shape the butterfly so that wings are full enough and even. Be sure to have the good side of your ribbon show out. Use your glue gun to make sure everything remains in perfect position..

6. Fill your hurricane flower vase with water. Then add your long stemmed flowers and your long stemmed butterflies. If you have three butterflies, be sure to have a few more flowers to make an elegant ratio.

7. You may want to wrap the stems of your flowers with the flower wrapping tape.

8. Another idea would be to wrap the ribbon used to make the butterflies around your vase and tie into a bow. For simplicity sake, we have not done so.

9. Now you have a handmade wedding centerpiece that will give your wedding reception an elegant garden theme!
