    Materials Needed

    2. Green yarn
    3. Tin foil
    4. Markers
    5. Glue - (tacky glue for the apply the yarn)
    6. Scissors
    7. Instrument to make circles, like a compass or medicine caps
    8. Scraps of wrapping paper

    Instructions
    1. Cut out a long piece of brown paper and paste it on the center of a yellow piece of paper.
    2. Using a pencil mark how you want your family tree branches to extend out from the family tree trunk
    3. Outline each mark with tacky glue and then lay a piece of green yarn on top of the line of glue. Add as many green limbs to make your tree as full as you would like.
    4. Draw a star into a piece of tin foil and cut it out and paste it to the top of your family Christmas tree. Paste a piece of paper over the horizontal center of the star and add your name or the name of the focal point of your family tree.
    5. Draw and cut out circles in colored paper. Make the parents one color, grandparents another color, and aunts and uncles another color. The aunts and uncles should be smaller.
    6. To give the apearance of Christmas tree balls, paste your circles onto tin foil with the shiny side of the tin foil facing upward.
    7. Cut around the colored circles to frame your family Christmas tree ornaments.
    8. Enter the name and any other genealogy information, such as birth year, to your Christmas tree ornaments.
    9. Add glue to the back of your ornaments and to the tree where you want the ornaments to stick. Place the ornaments in succession of your family tree, such as your parents first, and then grandparents.
    10. Add a tree skirt to the bottom of your tree using red construction paper and tin foil for the edges.
    11. Using wrapping paper scraps, cut out little squares to represent the presents under you family Christmas tree. Decorate the presents with bows cut out of tin foil scraps. Make a present for each of the cousins in your family tree.
    12. Cut out strips of paper in yellow and paste them above your presents. Add the name of each cousin on a different Christmas present.
    13. Add a title, such as Christmas Family Tree and the year to the top of your tree. It is suggested to add the year because families grow every year!
    14. Now you have a Christmas Family Tree to share with your family, display as a Christmas decoration, and store as a holiday family keepsake.
