    Ice Skate Christmas Stocking

How to decorate my Christmas Stocking? Make an ice skate from your plush Christmas stocking out of tin foil, cardboard, silver garland, and glue as a cool Christmas craft idea. Any ice skater will be delighted to find stocking stuffers overflowing in a handmade plush ice skate Christmas stocking.
    Time to Complete : < 30 minutes
    Difficulty : Easy
Submitted By : Crafty Shops Creative Staff
    Materials Needed
    1. 1 Plush Christmas stocking
    2. Carboard - We used cardboard from a discarded cereal box
    3. Sheet of tin foil
    4. Thin silver garland - found at any Christmas decoration supply store
    5. Scissors or a seam splitter
    6. No sew fabric glue

    Instructions
    1. Draw a wide cresant shaped blade into a sheet of card board. Make the two pieces that will attach to your Christmas stocking at least 2 inches thick in respect to the size of your stocking. Cut out the cardboard blade.
    2. Glue the tin foil to each side of the blade. We glued each side of the ice skate blade separately and cut away the excess tin foil each time.
    3. To get the tin foil to appear on the bottom of your blade, glue and fold the tin foil over -- sandwiching your ice skate blade with the foil. Once dry then cut around the blade.
    4. Wash off any excess glue residing on your ice skate blade before it drys and tarnishes the shine on your ice skate blade.
    5. Turn your Christmas stocking inside out. Rip the seam out of the bottom of your Christmas stocking boot. On rip out what you need to attach the blade extentions to your Christmas stocking ice skate.
    6. Turn your Christmas stocking back to right side out.
    7. Lay your stocking on a flat surface. Use no sew glue and paste the blade extentions to the bottom of your boot. Be sure to glue the right sides together on the folded seam that should still be creased into the material.
    8. Cut out at least two lengths of your stocking from your silver garland.
    9. Fold your garland in half and mold it into an interlocking to form the laces of your Christmas stocking ice skate boot.
    10. Add glue to one side of your double helix lace pattern. Paste it to the boot on one side. Lay a heavy book on top until it drys. Then repeat on the other side until you have a laced pattern on your ice skate stocking.
    11. Now you can make a Christmas stocking that any ice skating fan would love to find stocking stuffers in on Christmas morning!
