    Fall Wedding Leaves

Learn how to make wax leaves as a seasonal craft for a fall wedding. The wax leaves replace the flowers thrown by flower girl down the isle or the rice thrown when a bride and groom exit the church during a fall wedding. All you need is wax paper, fall leaves, cleaner, and an iron. This craft is great for weddings held in September, October, and November.
    Time to Complete : < 30 minutes
    Difficulty : Easy
Submitted By : Crafty Shops Creative Staff
    Materials Needed
    1. Fall leaves preferably in many colors like red and yellow
    2. Wax paper
    3. Bowel of water with cleanser
    4. Paper towels
    5. Sheet of white paper
    6. iron and ironing board

    Instructions
    1. First, have fun gathering up the leaves on the ground. Look for ones that are still intact and not brown and dried out.
    2. Put water in a bowel with some cleanser and soak your leaves. You may want to use a soft brush to make them as clean and disinfected as possible.
    3. Pull your leaves out of the water and dab the excess water off of them. Then lay your wedding leaves on a paper towel.
    4. Lay a white sheet of paper flat on your ironing board. Lay a sheet of wax paper on top of that.
    5. Next lay your wedding leaves on top of the sheet of wax paper. Sandwich the leaves between a second sheet of wax paper.
    6. Lay a second sheet of white paper on top of the top sheet of wax paper. The white paper will protect your ironing board and iron from the wax.
    7. Now, apply heat to your leaves with the iron for approximately 15-20 second. Always be very cautious when working with an iron, which should only be used by a responsible and knowledgeable adult.
    8. Peal the wax paper away and now you have your fall wedding leaves.
    9. Group the leaves into containers for guests to shower the wedding couple when they exit the church. Some fall wedding brides choose to replace the flowers spread down the isle by the flower girl with these wax leaves for a seasonal effect.
