No Sew Barbie Doll Dress

Learn how to make a no sew barbie doll dress using baby socks, material, some glue, and lace. Creative girls can be dress designers adding their own special touches to this easy to make gown that fits any Barbie doll or doll shaped like a Barbie doll.

Materials Needed

1. 1 Newborn baby sock - preferably with lacey tops.

2. 1 yard of material that compliments sock.

3. 1 ruler or measuring device

4. Scissors that cut through material

5. No sew fabric glue

6. Fancy lace to use as decoration

Instructions

1. You may want to sketch a design for your dress. The baby sock stretches, so you can put your dress on the doll over the legs and hips.

2. Cut the top of the baby sock, so that the stretchy fabric of the sock forms the bodice of your dress. If you chose a lace top sock, your dress bodice will already have lace attached to it.

3. To add pizzazz to your barbie skirt, you may want to glue lace across the bottom of the skirt.

4. Lay the bodice on a flat surface. Then lay the skirt material on top and start glue the right side of each material to each other.

5. Measure one side of the sock and then multiply that number by four. Use that width to cut out your skirt with a length of 6 inches.

6. Even out the bottom of your skirt by turning it up approximately 1 inch or less and glue it to keep it in place.

7. In order to create a ruffled look, fold section of the material back and glue it to the bodice in that fashion.

8. Be extra careful to add ruffles evenly across the entire bodice.

9. When finished meet the right sides of the seam of your dress together and glue it into place. Be careful to keep it as even as possible.

10. Now you have a no sew Barbie doll dress that you can wear on your doll. You can design other fashions and put on a fashion show!
