    Father's Day Coat of Arms Card
      
    Make a father's day card and design a coat of arms for your dad. Each quadrant of your shield will hold a picture of something that makes your dad special. Make the very best card for your dad this Father's Day.

    Materials Needed
    1. (3) sheets of construction paper (different colors and 8 X 11 inches)
    2. Scissors
    3. Glue
    4. Markers or Crayons
    5. Magazines or Drawing paper (to make the symbols in the quadrants of the shield)

    Instructions
    1. Fold each piece of construction paper putting the shortest sides together.
    2. Either draw symbols that remind you of your dad and what your father likes to do. You can paste images you cut out of magazines if you cannot draw the symbols you want on your coat of arms card.
    3. Lay out the pieces of the shield inside of the traced shield, paste them to the card when you have the right combination.
    4. Now fold your card, so that it forms the card. Trace the window in the shape of your coat of arms shield you have created.
    5. Cut the shield cutouts through the middle vertically and horizontally, so you are left with four quadrants. Lay out the quadrants of the two colors opposite the color of your main card, so you have piece together a multi-colored shield or coat of ar
    6. Cut out the shield. You should now have three pieces of paper with a shild cut out of one side and three shields.
    7. Draw one half of your shield making the newly formed crease the vertical middle of your shield.
    8. Lay all three flat with the crease facing your table or hard surface. Then fold on side in meeting the end with the center fold and make a crease.
    9. Lay all three pieces on top and fold them together forming a card.
    10. Cut along the fold, so you have three pieces of paper that are 5.25 X 8 inches in area
    11. Finish the card by adding a border, the words "Happy Father's Day", and signing your card. Your father will love viewing a card that celebrates the things you find special about him!
