Even though your toddler cannot draw or spell, she can make her mark on a greeting card that will melt any mother or grandmother's heart. These greeting cards made with toddlers are great for mother's day, grandparent's day and as thank you cards for birthday presents.
    Time to Complete : < 30 minutes
    Difficulty : Easy
Submitted By : Crafty Shops Creative Staff
    Materials Needed
    1. Construction Paper
    2. Card stock paper (We use cardboard from empty cereal boxes.)
    3. Crayons or paints
    4. Pen for tracing
    5. A toddler hand
    6. Glue
    7. Scissors

    Instructions
    1. Take a sheet of construction paper and fold it into a card. We usually fold and split the paper into two quadrants, then fold it a second time to form a card that is a quarter the size of an 8" X 11.5" piece of construction paper.
    2. Create the hand mold : Lay your a small hand onto the cardboard and trace around it. Cut around the trace marks to make a two dimensional mold of the hand print.
    3. Draw an object such as a heart or the age of your child and cut it out of the remaining cardboard sheet.
    4. Lay the mold of your hand on the outside cover the card. Then tap the small object in the middle of the hand.
    5. Now you can have your child color over the molds filling in all of the open space left by the hand mold.
    6. For added effect we suggest drawing a border around the outer edges of the hand and the object inside. For our example, we also used a red crayon and filled in the heart that was left blank by the mold.
    7. Being creative, you can cut out letters to use in a phrase with the hand objects you already created.
    8. Now you have a greeting card that you can give to family and friends that can serve as keepsakes for when you child had hands that little.
