Celebrate Christmas in July or Ausie Yulefest by making an Austrailian Christmas Cracker. This craft is usually made as a favor for Christmas parties, but we have designed it to be used as a true Christmas in July craft that can be enjoyed in July a
    Time to Complete : < 30 minutes
    Difficulty : Easy
Submitted By : Crafty Shops Creative Staff
    Materials Needed
    1. Empty toilet paper tube
    2. Empty Coffee Can
    3. Tissue paper or colorful holiday wrapping paper
    4. Crayons or colored pencils
    5. Ribbon
    6. Scotch tape
    7. Construction paper
    8. Glue
    9. paper and pencil
    10. Holiday book titles
    11. Wrapped candies

    Instructions
    1. Lay out the tissue paper and make holiday designs, such as Christmas trees, snowmen, or even the Jewish star for Hannukah.
    2. Now you have a worldly treat to save for Christmas week. Kids will be excited to unwrap their treat and find what stories they will read that night.
    3. Note : You could store your crackers in a decorated basket as well.
    4. Cut multiple strips of red construction paper and wrap them around the can and affix the strips to the can with glue to make a candy cane look.
    5. Wrap the coffee can with white tissue.
    6. Twist the ends of the tubes and affix them into place with approx. 8 inches of ribbon tied in a bow (Coil the ends of the bow with scissors for an added effect).
    7. Wrap the tubes with the wrapping paper (Either homemade or bought wrapping paper).
    8. Put the candies into each tube. Strap tape across the openings, so the candies do not fall out during the wrapping process.
    9. Wrap the pieces of paper around the individually wrapped candies.
    10. Write your holiday story titles on individual pieces of paper.
    11. Cut the toilet paper tube in half by poking a hole with scissors and cutting around to make two halves. Make as many tube halves as you have story titles.
    12. You could work this into the 8 days of Hannukah as well.
